  • Our son has been in the toddler program for almost a year and we have been very happy with the teachers, the consistently pleasant and organized atmoshere. Plus my son loves school and is definitely learning and socializing well. They have animals, a huge yard and nice playground, great classrooms and feel very safe and clean. I would recommend highly!

  • Adventure Montessori Learning (AML) had been a home to me for the past year and I have enjoyed my time building the relationships I have with the families, students and staff. I felt like I was and still am part of a community versus just clocking in day in and day out. Being with this school has made me learn more about Dr. Maria Montessori and her wonderful approach. My educational background is in clinical social work and education, and I’ve been fascinated and interested in therapeutic modalities that promoted a person-centered perspective and have employed child-centered therapies in my professional training. With AML I see much of this carried out as I see classrooms built around enhancing the child’s development and natural curiosity and desire to learn and acquire knowledge. I’ve rarely seen classrooms so pleasing to the eye in my experiences in early education. Often when I spend time with the children they are excited to show me the latest lesson they have mastered or are working on and I find myself learning from them as they go through their work cycles. I grew up in public education and as much as I felt I made the most of my experiences and excelled, I notice how different the children at AML approach their learning. They take control of their education with initial guidance and monitoring of their progress by their teachers or guides. I am amazed when the children as young as 4 and 5 start understanding the concepts of multiplication; taking care of their bodies and selves; begin learning how to problem solve; and engage in conflict resolution. For instance, I once saw three children arguing and resorting to name-calling when one of the students stopped and began actually using an “I-statement” to express how they were feeling about what was said. They then apologized to each other and decided it is better to play and be nice to each other. I have seen many of the children progress over the year and still am pleased and amazed at what these young minds absorb and how much the teachers care about the student’s healthy development. I know I am biased as I worked with the school but they did so much for me and I still cultivate the relationships I made during my time. My time with Adventure Montessori Learning has definitely made me decide when I have a child I would love for them to be in their program. Autumn Yamamoto, LSW, MEd
